ELL Teacher (Grades 5-8)
Position:
Veritas Preparatory Charter School is seeking a high-performing English Language Learner Teacher. English Language Learner Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering instruction to scholars for varying degrees of ELL needs for scholars in grades 5 through 8. You will be part of a planning team with Literacy, Social Studies, Math, Science, and Enrichment Teachers at all grade levels, working together to build a classroom culture of high expectations, consistent with our school-wide model.
Job Expectations:
- Implement school-wide procedures to build a culture of high expectations
- Support subject area curriculum in mainstream classrooms and pull-out groups, using standards-based lessons and assessments
- Working with classroom teachers to support differentiation of instruction
- Develop subject area curriculum and deliver rigorous, standards-based lessons and assessments
- Track and analyze data to drive dramatic student achievement results
- Participate actively in professional development and incorporate feedback into practice
- Cultivate positive relationships with colleagues, students, parents and families
- Demonstrate a growth mindset for yourself and your scholars
- Utilize methods and materials for teaching ELL students
Qualifications:

- Strong commitment to do whatever it takes for all our students to be college-ready
- Teaching experience with a proven track record of producing dramatic achievement gains is ideal
- Belief in a structured school environment that promotes a positive culture of achievement
- Entrepreneurial spirit which embraces the opportunity for creativity and hard work inherent in a start-up organization
- Possess MA Teaching License MTEL license in ESL, ELL and/or is SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) Endorsed
